Music School Movie Review: Shriya Saran and Sherman Joshi's Musical Drama is Heartwarming

Music School Movie Rating: 7/10 ⭐

Story: This heartwarming musical drama depicts India's existing  education system and how parents pressure their children to be competitive in their studies, leaving no time for arts and culture.

Flashback: Music School revolves around art dean Manoj (Sherman Joshi) and recently hired music teacher Mary (Shriya Saran). Both are  concerned about the declining student numbers in their classes. Because most teens are under tremendous academic pressure from  teachers, parents and society,  any extracurricular activity is a "waste of time" for them. Meanwhile, Manoj and Mary decide to open a music academy for children to attend after school. They  plan to make "Sound of Music" their debut song. Will children be able to join them and pursue their own interests, or will they be pressured by their parents to focus solely on their studies? I chose This 129-minute drama meets the expectations of schools and parents for students to focus on academics rather than extracurricular activities  such as art, music and athletics. As we've seen in movies like Taare Zameen Par,  this movie has a musical twist. The first half is fast-paced, well-balanced, and easy to follow the plot of the story. However, the film doesn't hold much attention for long because the long sections of contextually popping music make it tiring to watch. Aside from the music score, this movie would have been great with a better script and script. The film features 11 songs  from the Hollywood musical drama based on the real life of the Von Trapp family, including "Do-Re-Mi," "So Long Farewell," and "Sixteen Going on Seventeen." work) are featured. Julie is starring  Andrews and Christopher Plummer. All of these songs are lyrical, meaningful, and pleasant to listen to for a while.  Shriya Saran is really great. From the opening track "I Am From Goa" to the catchy track that follows, she makes every image shine. Sharman Joshi is a character  you want to root for. They have a warm chemistry on screen. Shaan's debut performance is cute and attracts attention. Prakash Raj and Leela Samson bring an appropriate sense of credibility to their roles. The rest of the children are doing their part well, and  you can share their train of thought as they want to do something creative but are constrained by their parents' expectations. But it's Oz Barua and Gracie Goswami who stand out. The film has a social message and raises the audience's awareness, but lacks the motivation and impact of its topic. Still, Musical School will win you over with its simplicity.
